This is a ig match for both teams who are not playing at their actual level at the moment. AEK has played 7 games (2D 5L) without a win in all competition and they have dropped to 6th position in the league. Apollon has gotten better results but the performances have not been that good. They lost to APOEL and drew with FC Pafos and maybe most importantly they drew three weeks ago with AEK at home 3-3.

AEK though is the team in trouble. 7-games without a win is a huge deal for a Top-6 team in Cyprus. This streak also includes away losses to newly promoted Enosis and FC Pafos. In these 7 games they failed to score 3 times and with the exception of that 3-3 draw with Apollon, they only scored 1 goal in the other 3 matches. They have scored 18 goals this season in the league which is only the 7th best record. Defensively they have conceded only 13 goals which is equal to Apollon´s best record in the league. Another big worry is their home form. They are 3-1-2 this season at the AEK Arena which is a decent record for a normal team, but AEK only lost once last season at home (APOEL) and only drew four games, winning all the rest. Now they have dropped points already in 3 games this season.

Apollon has started 2019 with two wins without conceding a goal. They beat Omonia 1-0 and Nea Salamina 0-3. Despite these wins, it is worrying that for instance Nea Salamina managed to create several chances against them. Apollon is currently 5 points behind leaders APOEL so this is an important game for them to win and cut down on that deficit. Apollon will still miss Sachetti from the line-up but he is close to returning. Faupala, Pereira, Stylianou and Youste are still out. Apollon is 4-2-1 away from home this season losing only to APOEL.

With the form that AEK is in, the pick here is away win.
