Saturday 26 January

Nea Salamina vs Ermis 17:00 N. Papas Group Ammochostos-Epistrofi, Larnaca
1.95 – 3.40 – 3.50 -Bet NOW with Winmasters

Both teams are desperate for points here as Nea Salamina is fighting for a Top-6 position and two of their last 5 games played against other top teams, they need 3 points here. Nea Salamina is currently 5th but only 3 points ahead of 7th placed Omonia. Ermis on the other hand need the 3 points as they are bottom of the league with 9 points and already 4 points behind 11th placed Enosis.

Nea Salamina lost their last game to Omonia 3-1 but before that they had gotten 3 points away to FC Pafos. They are 4-2-2 at home this season but that will not make that much of a difference here with Ermis also playing their home games at this stadium. Nea Salamina has been good at home against bottom half opposition as they beat Pafos and Doxa and drew with Enosis without conceding a goal. Nea Salamina has also beaten Ermis in their last three games without conceding a goal.

Ermis has changed their head coach already two times this season and even though the performances improved, the results did not. They have still only won two games this season and they are now 8 games without a win. Their only wins have come against FC Pafos and Alki Oroklini. Even though they have failed to score against Nea Salamina in their recent games, they should be able to do it now. They scored 2 goals against AEK Larnaca and despite losing 0-3 to Apollon, they did create enough chances to score in that game. Just with a better finishing their fortunes could change.

Prediction:

Main pick here is both teams to score.

Apollon vs Doxa 18:00 Tsirion Athlitiko Kentro, Limassol
1.21 – 5.20 – 16.00 -Bet NOW with Winmasters

This should be an easy win for the Limassol side who are 2nd and chasing leaders APOEL who are 4 points ahead. Doxa managed to get a draw against Apollon earlier in the season in Nicosia, but at the moment they are in bad form, having lost to AEK Larnaca 0-5 at home their last game on Monday.

If you calculate all competition Apollon is undefeated in their last 11 games (7W 4D) ever since they lost 5-1 to APOEL. They are 6-1-1 at home this season in the league losing only to Anorthosis in a match that they should have gotten something. This is a match that they should win as Apollon has been good against teams in the bottom half. They have only lost points to bottom half opponents in two away draws against Pafos and Doxa. At home they have won all weaker teams.

Doxa lost their best player Berat Sadik to the Spanish 2nd league and with him, they lost a huge chunk of their potential goals. Their first match without him ended in a 0-5 loss to AEK Larnaca and they have a lot to improve in their defense for this game. Doxa is 2-1-5 in their away games so far this season. Doxa earned that 1-1 draw against Apollon, but before that Apollon had won 9 consecutive times against Doxa. Doxa has beaten Apollon only once since the year 2000 and that was back in 2008.

Prediction:

Apollon to win by at least 2 goals.

FC Pafos vs Omonia 19:00 Stadio Stelios Kyriakides, Paphos
3.25 – 3.55 – 2.05 -Bet NOW with Winmasters

FC Pafos might have gone through in the Cup this week but in the league they have not won in their last 6 games and are 10th with only 15 points from 17 games. Omonia is in desperate need for a win as they are outside of the Top-6 at the moment by 3 points.

FC Pafos beat Aris 4-1 on Wednesday to progress to the Cyprus Cup quarter finals but in the league they have not been able to turn tight games into wins. Last weekend they lost the win in the dying minutes against Alki, Now they will have a chance to do a double against Omonia as they beat the Nicosia giants 2-4 earlier in the season which is still their only away win. At home they have been slightly better with 2-3-3 record but especially against top teams they have performed well. They beat AEK and managed to get draws against the top two teams APOEL and Apollon. They might get something here also.

Omonia got knocked out from the Cup so the league is their only chance to make it into Europe. But before they can go for that, they still need to make it into the Top-6. They have been good at home as they beat both AEK and Nea Salamina in their last two games, but away from home they have struggled a bit. They are 2-1-5 on the road this season with their only wins coming against Alki and Doxa. This is something they need to improve if they want to get into the Europa league fight.

Prediction:

FC Pafos has met Omonia in the Cyprus 1st Division five times winning three including both games at home. Main pick thus is FC Pafos draw no bet.
