This is the final in the Europa League, group A for both teams. Leverkusen leads the group with 10 points and they have already qualified to the next stage but they still need a win to guarantee top spot in the group. FC Zurich is 2nd with 9 points. AEK Larnaca is 3rd with 5 points but they no longer have any chance to qualify. Ludogorets is bottom of the group with 2 points. AEK lost a 0-1 lead against Leverkusen and eventually lost 4-2 in the first match in Germany.

Even though AEK Larnaca has played pretty well in their games in the Europa League, they will be happy for this journey to come to an end. AEK lacks depth and it has affected them in the recent weeks with poor performances in the domestic league. Injuries also have not helped. Still any money AEK could get from the Europa League would definitely help them for any challenge for the title so they will go for the win here.

Bayer Leverkusen has had a poor start to their Bundesliga season but they are slowly improving and have now played 4 games without a defeat. This form has seen them climb already to 11th position in their domestic league. They will have an important game during the weekend against Eintracht Frankfurt so they will rotate some players here in this match. One thing that they have improved lately is their defense as they have conceded only 2 goals in their last four games.

AEK team news:

AEK will be without Mojsov, Antoniades, Taulemesse and Assoumbre. On top of these Lamban and Roushias are not eligible to help as they were not registered to play for them in Europe.

Leverkusen team news:

Jonathan Tah, Sven Bender, Panagiotis Takis Retsos, and Joel Pohjanpalo could all miss Thursday’s trip to Nicosia through injury. Leverkusen also left several first team player in Germany and will rotate their players in this match.

Prediction:

Under 2.5 goals. AEK has struggled in scoring goals lately and with Leverkusen also rotating, the offensive play might not be the best.
