Friday 18 January

EN THOI Lakatamia vs Karmiotissa 19:00 Stadio Lakatamias

EN THOI Lakatamia suffered a bad loss in their last home game against Olympiakos losing 0-4. Despite playing 7 games without a win, that was only their second loss this season at home and also only the fifth game where they conceded more than 1 goal all season. They have trusted their defense to help them while their offense is struggling to score goals, but in the Olympiakos game the flood gates opened. EN THOI needs more help from their offense as they have only scored 2 goals in their last 7 games and only 12 all season which is the 2nd worst record in the league ahead of MEAP Nisou (10).

Karmiotissa had a very bad December where they failed to win any of their four games, but this year has started much better with the team earning a vital 1-1 draw against leaders Olympiakos in Nicosia and then beating Digenis Voroklinis at home 2-1 in their last match. They still struggle defensively as they have only managed to keep two clean sheets all season and both of those were at home. Offensively they have not been much better recently as the two goals against Digenis was the first time since 9 November that they managed to score more than 1 goal in a match.

Prediction: Karmiotissa is the better team, but they still have only managed to get 1 win this season away from home. With both struggling with goals, the main pick here is under 2.5 goals. You could also take Karmiotissa with a draw no bet option with these odds.

Akritas vs Olympiakos 19:00 Stadio Stelios Kyriakides, Paphos

Akritas drew 0-0 with ASIL Lysi at home last weekend and it was the first time that the Chlorakas team had failed to score at home this season. Defensively though it was already their fifth clean sheet. Only Onisilos and Aris Limassol have managed to score against them and those were also the only losses Akritas has had at home this season. If you manage to score against Akritas at their home, you will win.

Olympiakos does not have any problems scoring goals. They beat EN THOI Lakatamia 0-4 in their last match and EN THOI was supposed to have one of the best defenses in the league. League leaders Olympiakos lost to PAEEK 2-0 in their first away game of the season, but since then in the next 6 away games, they have scored an average of 3 goals per game. Since then they have never scored less than 2 goals in their away games this season.

Prediction: Olympiakos lost to Akritas 0-1 in the first game of their season, but have since been almost unstoppable. Main pick here is away win with both teams to score.

Saturday 19 January

PAEEK vs ASIL Lysi 14:30 Gipedo PAEEK Keryneia Epistrofi

PAEEK is still bottom of the league but their last three games have been encouraging. They drew at home with Anagennisi and lost only by one goal to both Aris Limassol (4th) and Othellos Athienou (3rd). Their big problem has been in scoring goals especially at home as they have only managed to score 3 goals at home. They have failed to score in 6 home games. At the same time their only clean sheet was against Olympiakos in their first home game of the season. Defensively they have improved as in their last two home games they have conceded only 1 goal in each.

ASIL Lysi drew 0-0 with Akritas in their last league game. They also played in the Cup during the week, losing 0-4 to Ermis and got knocked out of the cup in the process. ASIL Lysi (5th) is a decent team, but they have only managed to get 2 wins away from home this season. They are already 8 points from the Top-3 so promotion does not look likely this season.

Prediction: Main pick here is under 2.5 goals and 1X.

Ayia Napa vs Othellos 14:30 Dimotiko Stadio Ayia Napa

Ayia Napa ended their 3-game losing streak with a great 1-0 win over Aris Limassol in the last round. Ayia Napa got some help in the transfer window and this gave them a much needed boost. They are still only 1 point ahead of the relegation zone, but they are also too good to be in this position. They are a good home team as their last 5 home games have given them 3 wins, 1 draw and only one loss to Omonia Aradippou.

Othellos Athienou is only 3 points behind leaders Olympiakos and they are chasing for promotion this season. They beat PAEEK 0-1 in their last game, but that was only their second win away from home this season. They have a 2-2-3 away record so far. Othellos beat Ayia Napa 1-0 earlier in the season at home and most likely there wont be many goals here either.

Prediction: Main pick is double chance for Ayia Napa 1X, but the odds on under 2.5 goals is also tempting. Another bet there.

Onisilos vs Aris Limassol 14:30 Dimotiko Stadio Sotiras

Onisilos is going through a bad run of form having lost their last 3 games. Especially at home they have struggled as they have lost to both Anagennisi and Ethnikos Achna without scoring any goals. They are now 10th and only 2 points ahead of the relegation zone. The end of the season will be difficult for them. They lost to Aris 5-2 earlier in the season so this match will be difficult.

Aris Limassol suffered a bad 1-0 loss to Ayia Napa in the last round and their away form is the reason why they are already 6 points behind leaders Olympiakos and in 4th position. Aris Limassol has a 2-2-3 away record this season and each one of their games have been low scoring. In 7 away games they have scored 6 and conceded 6. Aris played on Wednesday in the Cup and earned a 2-1 home win against 1st Division team Pafos and this should give them confidence ahead of this match.

Prediction: Aris should win this but main pick is under 2.5 goals.

AE Zakakiou vs Omonia Aradippou 14:30 Gipedo Zakakou, Limassol

AE Zakakiou has now played 4 games without a loss and after winning their last two they have managed to get out of the relegation zone for the first time since start of the season. After some poor defensive displays, they have started to find the net more often offensively and their results have improved. In the last round they gave second placed Ethnikos Achna their first loss of the season. They still concede goals but they are capable of scoring 2 or more against any team giving them always a chance to win.

Omonia Aradippou is also in better form despite drawing 0-0 in their last game against MEAP Nisou. Before that they got two wins and they are now 8th in the league. That draw against MEAP was their first draw of the season. They still struggle away from home. Before the draw with MEAP they beat Ayia Napa 0-4 away from home. These 4 points though are their only away points this season for them. They are on an upward trend, but still away games are difficult.

Prediction: Omonia Aradippou is a low scoring team of late and they beat AE Zakakiou 1-0 earlier in the season. Omonia also has kept a clean sheet in their last two away games so the under 2.5 goal option is tempting here. Small bet on the under 2.5 goals.

MEAP Nisou vs Anagennisi Deryneia 14:30 Koinotiko Stadio Pera Choriou

MEAP Nisou is struggling at the moment as they are without a win in their last 6 games (3 draws 3 losses). They are 14th at the moment and relegation is a big possibility for them as safety is 4 points away. They are very difficult to beat at home as they have only lost once at the Koinotiko stadio Pera Choriou (2-4-1). They drew last 0-0 with Omonia Aradippou and it is their defense which gives them the chance to win each time. Only two of their home games this season have seen more than 1 goal (2-3 loss to Akritas and 1-1 draw with AE Zakakiou). The rest have been either 0-0 or 1-0.

Anagennisi Deryneia are in good form after their poor start to the season. In their last 8 games, they have won 5, drawn 2 and lost only to league leaders Olympiakos. Also their poor away form has improved. They lost their first 4 away games but in the last three they have gotten 2 draws and finally got their first win in their last game against Onisilos. They managed to improve their defense and results have followed. Four of their last five games have gone under 2.5 goals.

Prediction: Main pick is under 2.5 goals as both teams are underish.

Digenis Voroklinis vs Ethnikos Achna 14:30 Dimotiko Gimnastirio Agias Paraskevis, Larnaca

Digenis Voroklinis is in trouble at the moment in the league. They are 15th and already 6 points from safety. After a good start in the league, they are on a run of nine games with only 1 win, 1 draw and 7 losses. The surprising thing with this run of form is that in those 9 games, they only failed to score twice. They have scored in 6 consecutive games, but still only got 1 win and 5 losses in those. This shows that their defense is mainly to blame for their bad form. They have conceded 33 goals which is by far the most in the 2nd division.

Ethnikos Achna finally lost their first game of the season in the last round when AE Zakakiou beat them 2-1. They are now 3 points behind leaders Olympiakos and is desperate to get back to winning ways in this match. Before that loss to AEZ, they had won 5 games in a row and that was mainly thanks to their defense improving. Especially in their away games they had kept 3 clean sheets in a row. Ethnikos drew 1-1 with Digenis earlier in the season.

Prediction: Ethnikos defense is the best in the league so Digenis will finally struggle to score goals. Ethnikos to win to nil is the main pick.
